4 Bedrooms • 3 Bathrooms 3 Baths • Sleeps 1-12Tucked among towering pines, this private and quiet lakefront home offers the perfect Northwoods escape. Just steps from the back door, the lake greets you with a sandy bottom and gradual water depth—starting at about 1 foot at the shoreline and reaching 5 feet at the end of the private dock—ideal for swimming, wading, and endless water fun.
The home sits on a calm, wooded lot filled with mature 60–70 ft pines, creating a peaceful, secluded atmosphere the moment you arrive. A tree-lined circular driveway makes coming and going easy, and once you pull in, you can feel the stress melt away. To celebrate the natural setting, the deck was even built around a pine tree, making outdoor time feel truly connected to nature.
Inside, large windows line the back of the main floor, keeping the lake in view whether you’re cooking in the kitchen or relaxing in the family room. Outside, you’ll find comfortable seating, a firepit, and space to fully enjoy the quiet beauty of the Northwoods—we often find ourselves eating outdoors just to soak it all in.

About the Owner
This home has been part of our family for four generations, and its story is deeply rooted in Tomahawk and Lake Mohawksin. In the early 1900s, our great-grandparents, Elmer and Ruth Foster—known to us as Pop and Mimi—made this property their home after immigrating and settling in Wisconsin. Like so many families, the Great Depression brought hardship, and they eventually relocated to the guest cottage on Lake Mohawksin. That cottage is where our father grew up and where our own childhood summers were spent—filled with freedom, nature, and lifelong memories. Elmer was nothing if not resourceful. He tried his hand at many trades—cabinet maker, fishing guide, boat shuttle operator, even mini golf—before a simple favor for a friend led him to build his first live animal trap in the garage. That one trap became a thriving business: National Live Trap Company, later known as Tomahawk Live Trap, still recognized today. Our father later served in World War II, worked for Johnson Motors (Johnson/Evinrude), and eventually returned home with our mother when they retired. In 1981, they transformed the original cottage into the lakefront family home it is today. They lived here until their passing, deeply connected to the land and community they loved. Afterward, the property was inherited by five siblings. As the youngest, we eventually purchased the home to keep it in the family—ensuring that this special place would continue to be enjoyed rather than sold away. Today, we are proud to welcome the fifth generation, sharing the same simple joys of lake life, small-town charm, and time spent outdoors. It would be our pleasure to share Lake Mohawksin and the Tomahawk experience with you, your family, and your friends—just as it has been shared with ours for over a century.
